Once my teacher said :” you are not sewing, you are stylist; never forget which you should lay out to people is your thought, not craft.” I will put my personality with my interest and ability into my study, during these process I will combine learning with doing. If I can achieve this “future”, think that I really grow up. And I deeply believe kindred, good-fellowship and love will perfection and happy in the future.

How to say future? Maybe it’s a nice wish. Lets make up our minds, stick to it and surely well enjoy our life.

一、研究背景

“值日生报告”是指当天值日的同学作五分钟左右的脱稿话题演讲。它作为英语口语训练的形式之一进入教学过程并成为其中的一个环节,有如下功效:有效开发英语课程资源,丰富课堂教学内容,自然流畅地引入新课,营造互助和谐的学习环境,促进学生语言习得,提高语言表达能力。高中生具备了一定的英语词汇和语法知识,有强烈的用英语进行创造性表达的愿望,尤其是对社会热点或争议话题。但实践表明,值日生汇报的质量因个体写作能力差异体现出明显的不同:能力较强的学生口语准确而流利,思想表达顺畅,逻辑性强,有一定感染力和说服力;能力较弱的学生存在明显语法或者语音错误,观点不明确,论证不充分,听众难以理解。值日生报告质量取决于演讲稿写作,而写作水平又与多种因素有关,如学生的词汇量、语法知识、对话题的熟悉程度、驾驭不同体裁的能力等。为了解学生对演讲稿写作畏难的原因,笔者设计了一份调查问卷。

值日生汇报问卷调查

请根据实际情况在空格中填以下数字, 5.“非常同意”,4.“同意”,3.“不知道”,2.“不同意”,1.“很不同意”。

1.每次做值日生汇报,我总要用很长的时间作准备,比如找资料、写稿子和做幻灯片。

2.如果没有幻灯片或者稿件的帮助,我很难完成两到三分钟的脱稿演讲。

3.在值日生汇报准备过程中,我觉得最困难的是选题。如果老师给我们自由选择话题,我会很焦虑。

4.写作过程中,口语文体和书面文体存在区别,体现在选词和语气上。

5.我不知道如何分段,我的文章有时欠缺逻辑性,有时候想不到合适的例子来证明我的观点。

6.找到英语单词、词组、句型来表达意义对我来说不是难事,但是阐述观点,或者进行论证比较困难。

7.写作过程中,句子和句子之间的关联我可以感觉到,但是不会用合适的英语来表达。因此有的时候段落看起来支离破碎。

8.每个学期两到三次的值日生报告对提升我的思辨能力有很大帮助,从构思选题到下笔写作,我的分析、综合、判断、推理、思考和辨析能力得到了训练和提升。

9.写完值日生汇报后,我总是能得到来自老师和同伴的有实际帮助意义的评价,这样我下次的值日生汇报会有进步。

10.我对其他同学的值日生报告非常感兴趣,每次都能坚持认真听,并且觉得他们涉及的话题广泛,词汇丰富,语言流畅,我很有收获。

调查发现,学生认可值日生汇报的价值,迫切希望通过该练习培养口语表达能力、阅读与写作能力和思辨能力。学生们也理解若想成功进行值日生报告演讲,必须有质量过硬的演讲稿。而写作的困难主要存在于:

第一,词汇、语法、句型、拼写、标点等方面均需要提高,投入大量时间精力,反复修改,但往往效果不理想。

第二,英文写作中对学生的逻辑思维能力和语言连贯性能力的要求很高,需要教师的指导。

第三,评价形式比较单一,大部分学生认为单纯的分数评价对他们的书面表达没有太多实质性的帮助,他们更加渴望具体的、有建设性的指导。除了语法方面的帮助,他们还希望有内容和结构方面的点评。

《普通高中课程方案(实验)》指出,“改进校内评价,实行学生学业成绩与成长记录相结合的综合评价方式”,具体而言,“学校应根据目标多元,方式多样,注重过程的评价原则,综合运用观察、交流、测验、实际操作、作品展示、自评和互评等多种方式,为学生建立综合、动态的成长记录手册,全面反映学生的成长历程”。由此可见,校本评价的完善过程就是课程评价找回失落的内在价值过程,这是素质教育的基本要求。值日生汇报评价体系应做如下调整:由单纯分数评价改为描述性评价;由教师评价变为学生互相评价;由听众评价演讲者变为演讲者自我评价和他人评价相结合;由结果性评价变为过程性评价;由只评价演讲效果变为评价演讲稿、演讲形式、措辞分析、肢体语言、演讲节奏等。

二、写作评价体系的内容

演讲有其自身的特点:思维严密、逻辑性强、语言精练、表达有力、结构多变、节奏感强。对演讲稿写作应该从逻辑性、流畅性、准确性三个方面进行评价与考量。

(一)逻辑性

以往的英语教学把语言知识放在首位,忽视了篇章结构和段落发展的指导。学生写出来的东西往往是信息感不强,逻辑性差,偶尔有了主题句(Topic Sentence),支持细节(Supports/Details)又不能很好地说明主题句,文章缺乏一致性、连贯性。以演讲稿开始段为例,应该把最重要的信息放在最前面,先用简洁的语言介绍演讲的话题、明确演讲的目的,以便听众准确地接收信息。

案例一:以下是高二学生演讲稿的第一段(已修改),他明确提出了演讲的话题(公众场合是否要禁烟)和目的(禁烟的理由)。

Should smoking be banned in public places?

With the fast development of the society, more and more people are confronted with a dilemma,whether smoking should be banned in public places \[演讲话题\]. I, after considering carefully, firmly hold that smoking should be banned in public places for the following reasons. \[演讲目的\]

分析:作者以较短的篇幅明确演讲目的,介绍演讲性质,逻辑性强,听众可以清楚了解演讲内容。

除了写好开始段,写好中间段的主题句会对篇章逻辑性起到提升作用。再使用适当的例子作为supporting details来支持观点,增强文章关联性、逻辑性和可读性。可以采用从一般到具体、从“全景”到细节、从定义到分析再到提出解决方案等多种方式来体现。

案例二:以下是一位高二学生以“A mistaken idea”为题撰写的演讲稿。她的段落主题句很巧妙地起到了概括段落大意的作用,使人一目了然。

Men give the society an impression of being tough while women give the society the impression of needing protection. One would expect men to be the stronger one when they face danger and can always protect women and children. Yet, this is not always the case.

Women might not look as tough as men, but the inside of women is much stronger than men in certain circumstances. In 2008, a middle school teacher, known as “Fan Paopao” ran out of the classroom for life without evacuating the students first. Later, he received a fire of criticism over the Internet and was “remembered” for a couple of years. A few years later, however, a female kindergarten teacher threw herself in front of a bus to protect two of her students. It seems that men are not tough at all times.

分析:作者开始段(introduction)介绍了演讲主题:大家都认为男人比女人坚强,总是能保护妇女儿童,其实这是个错误的概念。接下来的第二段,作者并没有急于举例证明自己的观点,而是利用一个主题句引领读者关注细节:一个人内心是否强大、意志是否坚强并不取决于外表。用一男一女两位老师在生死面前做出的抉择这样典型的事例,证明了强大与否和性别无关,也和外表无关。

(二)流畅性

关联词的使用,单句之间、段落之间的逻辑顺序及适当的代词的使用等都会影响文章的流畅性。其中最重要的是关联词的使用。用得恰当,听众在脑海中能轻松构架演讲者陈述的内容。

笔者发现,高二学生每到段首,会有意识地使用一些表示罗列、增加的关联词或关联词组,如First of all, people sometimes consider smoking to be a social convention or a way to get relaxation and get inspiration. 这类关联词组还有:For one thing…for another…, in addition / furthermore / moreover / another / also,等等。但是,在段落中衔接句子的时候,他们却往往简单地把一些句子叠加在一起,而不用任何关联词。

案例三:在禁烟演讲稿的第二段,这位同学这样写:

What’s more, many people find the smell of smoke repulsive. It is quite necessary to ban smoking in public places. Smoking affects not only the smoker himself, but also those who do not smoke at all. Many people die from smoking every year, including a large number of people who do not smoke.

这里如果添加一些关联词组(in this case表示因果, as far as I know表示归纳概括, as a result表示结果),会使文章更加顺畅。如:

What’s more, many people find the smell of the smoke repulsive. In this case, it is quite necessary to ban smoking in public places. As far as I know, smoking not only affects the smoker himself, but those who are around him. As a result, many people die from smoking every year, including a large number of people who do not smoke.

分析:教会学生在句子和句子衔接处使用连词,学生不仅注意到形式的准确性也注意到内容的完善性,做到“从读者与作者交流的角度”,提高写作技能,凸显交际功能。

案例四:一位学生在“A colorful figure that you know”的演讲中,谈到了刘翔。

When Liu was young, he displayed great talents in athletics and received training in a school in Shanghai. By the age of 18, Liu had won championship of several national and regional games, which brought him confidence to go on working hard. It was not until 2008 that he broke the world record that had been kept 13 years by Colin Jackson. Liu’s success has been a milestone in the development of Chinese athletics, for it ended the time when Asians were considered “not capable of sprint races”.

分析:这位同学用形式多样的时间状语,按照时间发展顺序描述刘翔的成长,并在关键时间节点用了‘It was not until…that’而不是简单的‘in 2008’,目的是突出刘翔的成功来之不易,并在最后的总结句中加以强调。

(三)精确性

写作过程就是学生把所学知识按照自己的思路整合和创作的过程。学生应该充分考虑到语言形式和词汇是否合适、切题,是否与题目所要求一致,尽量避免生僻的单词和过长的句式。

案例五:这是高二学生写的美剧观后感中的句子:

I have watched one season of Downton Abbey up to now, but I don’t think it is that worth-acclaimed as it is described in this article. 她想表达的是:“我看了美剧《唐顿庄园》的第一季,但是我并不觉得它像报纸上介绍的那样值得观看。”

分析:这句话语病明显:be worth-acclaimed不符合习惯,可改用熟悉的I don’t think it is worth acclaiming. 或I don’t think it deserves so much public acclaim that the reports give in the newspaper.

表达要准确表意,须审慎选词。有些学生把连词意义弄混淆,也会写出令人费解的句子来。

案例六:一位高二学生在“Chinese culture”演讲稿的最后一段描述了一群淘气的小孩对待乞丐的态度。

Soon afterwards, the mischievous boys felt bored with this trick, and they ran away very quickly. I was suddenly imprisoned by the guiltiness at that time, but he proceeded to playas nothing had happened.

分析:此处错误反映出学生尚未掌握从属连词as和as if 的用法。此处该用as if表示“他继续玩着,好像什么都没有发生过似的”。看似细小的连词用法,在演讲过程中可能一带而过,说话者和听话者都可能没有留心,但教师在批改演讲稿的时候应该强调用词的精确性。

三、演讲稿评价模式的构建

值日生汇报是学生利用课余时间完成的写作任务,要求学生自己收集、整理、加工材料,拟定草稿、讨论和修改。因此,设计合理的评价标准可帮助学生自己进行修改,提高写作水平。教师对演讲稿的反馈必须是多层面的、丰富的,不仅有词汇语法层次的反馈,而且有语篇层次的反馈;不仅有分数,而且有评语;不仅要指出错误,还要阐释错误的原因。通过描述性评价,指出错误所在并提出改进的建议。建构主义认为学习具有诊断性和反思性,反思学习是智能发展的高层次表现,对学习起着重要作用。在高中阶段培养和提高学生反思学习的能力,不但能提高学生的学习效果,更是培养学生自主学习能力所必需的。

为此,笔者设计了值日生报告写作评价标准,学生可以根据此表进行自我监测、自我评估。(如表1)表1

firstly, lhasa has a long history. it is the political, cultural and economic center of tibet. it has lots of famous sights to offer. the potala palace is the most famous, a magnificent and wonderful place to look at. in my opinion it is a unique artistic achievement of the tibetan people. likewise, the architecture, carvings and paintings throughout the city show hard work, wisdom and bravery of our people.

secondly, led by the reforming and opening policy of china, lhasa has changed a lot. many new things have arrived up here, changing the face of the city. the old and new lie side by side in lhasa.

many new buildings, schools and roads have been built here. furthermore, the qing-zang railway leading to lhasa is being built. many shopping centers have been opened, and modern technology like telecommunications is spreading. the whole city looks prosperous, and our tibetan people take on a new look. every festival, people walk around freely on the new, wide and smooth streets, wearing the beautiful traditional costumes.

right now, i am looking forward to a festival called shodün which comes in june for eating yoghurt. at this time, all my family and i gather for a picnic together at the norbulinka, a famous garden. in the garden, we sing tibetan songs, dance “guo zhuang” on the grass; eat zanba, drink butter tea and barley beer on the beautiful carpet as well. we enjoy our life. i think that this festival exhibits the open-minded and optimistic character of the tibetan people.

拉萨是一个传统和时尚的结合体。

首先,拉萨有悠久的历史,灿烂的文化。拉萨是西藏的政治、文化、经济中心,并且有许多闻名遐迩的名胜古迹,布达拉宫雄伟壮观,金碧辉煌,是一个值得一看的地方,我认为它是西藏人民独特艺术成就,而且拉萨市的建筑、雕刻和绘画是西藏人民勤劳、勇敢和智慧的结晶。

其次,自改革开放以来,拉萨发生了很大变化,许多新事物层出不穷,改变了拉萨的面貌,古老与现代并存。

多种风格的建筑拔地而起,现代化的学校被建起,宽畅的公路被修建,通向拉萨的青藏铁路正在施工,现代高科技在拉萨延伸,整个城市呈现一派繁荣景象,拉萨人民呈现新的面貌,每逢节日,他们穿着节日盛装,自在地走在大街上。

现在我正期待着雪顿节的到来,这个节日在六月初,是一个吃酸奶的节日,当这个节日到来的时候,我和我的家人、朋友聚在一起在有名的公园-“罗布林卡” 里面野餐。我们在草地上一起唱藏歌,跳锅庄舞;踏着美丽的藏式地毯吃糌粑、喝酥油茶和青稞酒,享受我们幸福的生活,我认为这个节日展示了西藏人民开朗、乐观的性格。
